ARGENTINA FISHING

At the places we fish you won't have to exaggerate about the size, and at these places  size counts!

SAN MARTIN de LOS ANDES
TIPILIUKE
for
Trout- Browns & Rainbows
Season: Mid December through May

Wouldn't you rather be catching than just fishing?

The river waters that flow out of the Andes in Argentina are noted for holding big trout, and lots of them.  The Chimehuin (Chim E win) and Quilquihue (key kill way) are two of those rivers, and they flow right though the property called Tipiliuke (Tip a luke key).  These pristine waters produce big hungry browns and aerobatic rainbows that will readily take a dry fly.  In addition to the big rivers there is a brand new spring creek that's always fishable.

Tipiliuke is located in Patagonia on the slopes of the Andes mountains close to San Martin. The jet port (Chapelco) is actually located on their property, so it's real close transfer.  In fact you will fish the afternoon of arrival.

I can't brag or come up with enough suitable adjectives to adequately describe the overall experience at Tipiliuke.  From the guided fishing, to the food and accommodations, to the outstanding hosts and their staff, its a just a remarkably great time.

In addition to the fishing there is great horseback riding on the best trail horses I have ever set upon.  Then there is skiing nearby during our summer.  It's like a camp for grown-ups!

The fishing is with fly casting equipment only, with barb less hooks, and a strict catch and release policy is adhered too.

It's too far to travel for less than three or four days of fishing. Buenos Aires is the gate way city, and it's still a two plus hour jet ride from there.  There are daily non-stop flights from Atlanta, Dallas and Miami.  The fishing can be combined with other hunting and or fishing trips to Argentina.   Argentina Hunting

I fish there annually and have even invested in their
Spring Creek Project

CONCORDIA
La ZONA
for
Golden Dorado
Season: Anytime except: June-July-August

Arguably the best fresh water fishing in the world!  It's a classic tail race fishery for golden dorado that tip the scales at over 50 pounds.  They jump, shake, rattle, and pull like a freight train.  Did I mention that they have big sharp teeth!  There are many other places to fish dorado, but there is no other place to consistently catch these giants!  Each boat should average from 25-35 fish per day landed, but three times that many hooked.

The water holds good concentrations of these monsters, think a salmon on steroids   Fly fishing with sinking tip lines or bait casting equipment is in. order.  You drift from the face of the dam down river casting along he way.  The strikes aren't subtle and sometimes you see the fish in the air before you feel him hit.  La Zona is located on the Uruguay River about a five hour drive north of Buenos Aires.

The dock is only ten minutes from the lodge, so you don't stay out all day.  The accommodations are refined and very comfortable.  The food  and wines are over the top, as the owners wife is a trained chef.  Just try and resist a siesta after lunch.

The four day trip (2007) costs $ 3500 + air and transfer per person based on four fisherman (holds 6)

Every fisherman should experience this fantastic fishing, unfortunately it has very limited capacity so you may not be able to get booked in but get on the list.
