CORDOBA
POSTA del NORTE & La AGUADA
for
High Volume
Doves and Pigeons
Season: Tuesdays are better than Wednesdays |
The hot barreled
action for unlimited dove shooting is near Cordoba. But there is only
one operation that never has a failed day, and that's ours. We are
so sure of the shooting that we guarantee it! If you fail to have
a chance to shoot a case of shells each day the trips on us! Most
people shoot anywhere from 1,000 to 2,000 rounds or more a day.
We are partners in
two lodges north of Cordoba, Posta del Norte (Our first) and La Aguada
(The second). Most operators drive by our lodges each day to reach
the best shooting.
Each lodge has six
bedrooms all en-suite, some with fireplaces, and of course all the
amenities. We are famed for our "white glove" service, and nobody
sets a better table or pours a better bottle of wine. Another
unique feature is we don't mix guests, the lodge will be exclusively
yours while you are our guest.
You can customize the standard trip by adding an additional day for
great pigeon shooting. There is also the option of doing a
combo-trip with ducks and/or geese.

San Miguel del Monte
for
Ducks & Perdiz
Season: Mid April - Mid August |
There are some
fourteen different duck species on our mixed bag waterfowl hunt. I know
that you will shoot several different ones in a very generous daily bag
limit. On our duck hunts you will see plenty of ducks to shoot!
We've got ducks!!
Last year we fed 130 tons of corn, or golden decoys as we call it.
Our lodge is about
one hour and fifteen minutes south of the International Airport, so it
is very easy to reach and not a long van ride. The duck operation is run
by previous Burnt Pine guides so they are excellent hosts and hard
hunters. They have the best local connections to exclusive ponds and
marshes. These aren't fly-by river ducks, but work well to decoy
spreads. Labs due the retrieving, and they are some tired puppies when
the hunt is finished
The lodge at Monte
has four bedrooms, serves excellent food and wine. Warming up in front
of the fire place in the lounge while recounting your gunning prowess is
a great cap to a perfect waterfowl day.
Ducks are usually
added to the back end of a dove hunt, but can be a stand alone hunt as
well. Figure about $800 per day, plus transfer and a $30 license,
shells are currently $12 a box.

Bia Blanca
for
Geese
Season:
May - June |
Geese, geese, and
more geese! Unbelievable gunning for Magellan and ashy head geese.
What is a plague to the local farmers is a boon for us hunters. They
come across from the Falkland Islands to feed on stubble and newly
planted wheat. 30-40 geese per gun per outing wouldn't be unusual.
Field blinds, decoys, and electric callers are used. There are many
seasons when there is great duck hunting as well, but is seasonal water
dependent so we don't usually sell it as a goose & duck combo.
The Estancia is
warm and cozy, and most days it isn't to far from the hunting fields.
The food and wine served is excellent, and most likely one of the Monte
staff will be in residence. While you can fly from BA, we have found
road transfers work best, usually you can get a hunt in the day you
arrive, depending on your international flight arrival time.
Geese are usually
added to the back end of some other Argentine adventure, but can be a
stand alone hunt as well. Figure about $800 per day, plus transfer and
a $30 license, shells are currently $12 a box.

They
come to you flying at 25 yards off the deck, then they decoy!
If you want to shoot lots of geese, then come on down

SAN MARTIN de LOS ANDES
TIPILIUKE
for
California Quail
Season:
May & July and August
(not June) |
Coveys of
over one hundred birds! In the 1950's California quail were released on
the property, and they have thrived. Since this is primarily a trout
destination nobody paid much attention to them until I did an
exploratory trip down there several years ago. Now we have resident
experienced bird guides and good bird dogs there. In May it makes a
great cast and blast trip (See Argentina fishing) We have marked over
50 coveys, and usually hunt from covey to covey.
The lodge is one
of my all time favorites. I can't brag or come up with enough suitable
adjectives to adequately describe the overall experience at Tipiliuke.
From the food and accommodations, to the outstanding hosts and their
staff, its a just a remarkably great time.
You fly into
Chepelco from BA which is on the property so it's a very easy transfer.
This can be a stand alone destination or an add-on. Call for current
pricing.

I haven't
found better wild quail hunting any where else including Texas |

SAN MARTIN de LOS ANDES
TIPILIUKE
for
Red Stag
Season:
Mid March-Mid
April |
The best free
range stag hunting in Argentina is on a 60,000 acre property called
Tipiliuke. We hunt during the rut when there are plenty of big stags to
choose from. The hairs on back of your neck will stand up when you here
your first one roar in the pre-dawn darkness. Expect to see 12-20 stags
each day. They will probably also ask you to do some cull shooting free
of charge while you are hunting there.
Tipiliuke is
located in Patagonia on the slopes of the Andes mountains close to San
Martin. The jet port (Chepelco) is actually located on their property,
so it's real close transfer. In fact you will hunt the afternoon of
arrival.
I can't brag or
come up with enough suitable adjectives to adequately describe the
overall experience at Tipiliuke. From the hunting guides, to the food
and accommodations, to the outstanding hosts and their staff, its a just
a remarkably good hunting experience great time. This is a great place
to take a non-hunting wife.
The basic hunt is
for days and cost $ per person. Trophy fees are extra and begin at $
for a Grande, $ for a Muey Grande, and $ for a Muey-Muey Grande. Buenos
Aires is the gate way city, and it's still a two plus hour jet ride from
there. There are daily non-stop flights from Atlanta, Dallas and
Miami. The fishing can be combined with other hunting and or fishing
trips to Argentina.
